12 May, 2023 Symbiosis College of Nursing (SCON) has organized the International Webinar on Nursing 2023 – Career and Fair Go “Far & Beyond the Dreams” dated on May 12, 2023 in an outlook to provide awareness on career opportunities available for nurses across the globe. The webinar’s main focus is to address the final year nursing students. SCON has proposed to organize online interaction platform connecting experts in the field of nursing across the globe.

26 May 2023 and 27 May 2023 Symbiosis College of Nursing, Pune conducted workshop on BLS training on May 26, 2023 and May 27, 2023 for 2 nd Year Basic B. Sc. Nursing (3 rd Semester) students. For this training Symbiosis College of Nursing invited Dr. Ujjwal S. Bhambare as a trainer. Dr. Ujjwal Bhambare holds a Master Degree from London South Bank University, United Kingdom in Emergency Medicine and Healthcare Services Management. He has worked in National Health Services (NHS) at London for 4 years. He is an authorized trainer for Basic life support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac life support (ACLS) for American Heart Association (AHA). Currently he is working at SUHRC (Symbiosis Hospital) as medical administrator as well as leading emergency department.

19 June, 2023 As per the AICTE Circular, the 19^th June is celebrated as the “Day of Reading” where various events such as seminars, elocution, essay writing, mass runs etc. are included but today the day was celebrated by organizing the book review competition by the students of nursing from Symbiosis College of Nursing. The programme was organized by the Liberians of FOHS library under AICTE Circular and there were four participants in book review competition namely Ms.POOJA RATHORE, Mr.RAVICHNADRA B. 1st Sep 2023: ONAM CELEBRATION

The Onam Celebration held on 1st September 2023 at FOHMS Auditorium,4th Floor, SUHRC, It was a grand and colorful event that brought together the faculty, staff, and students Symbiosis College of Nursing (SCON) to celebrate the vibrant festival of Onam. The event featured a variety of cultural performances, traditional rituals, and a sumptuous Onam Sadhya (feast).

4th Sep 2023: IEC Conference

The Training Programme on ICMR National Ethical Guidelines 2017 and NDCT Rules 2019; It was organized by the Institutional Ethics Committee at Symbiosis College of Nursing,Pune, in collaboration with Symbiosis International (Deemed University). This online training program aimed to provide valuable insights into the ethical guidelines governing medical research and the rules related to new drugs and clinical trials.

5th Sep 2023: TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION

The Teachers Day Celebration held on 5th September 2023 at FOHMS Auditorium, 4th Floor, SUHRC. It was a heart-warming event organized by students of Symbiosis College of Nursing (SCON) to honour and appreciate the dedicated teachers who play a pivotal role in shaping the future. The event featured a series of performances, speeches, and a delightful cake-Cutting ceremony, culminating in a heartfelt vote of thanks and a refreshing gathering.

Total 108 students from Josai University Japan along with 05 Professors and CEO of SGS visited. It was a physical programme.

11th Sep 2023: World Suicide Prevention Day

Symbiosis College of Nursing at Pashan Urban Community area celebrated World Suicide Prevention Day. Students from B.Sc. 4th Semester have participated in the program and did Street Play, rally and poster exhibition for awareness. Total 41 students were the part of the program. World Suicide Prevention Day was observed at Pashan Urban Community area from 11am to 12pm awareness rally was organized at Pashan Gaon. From 12 pm to 1 pm students have performed a Street play on the theme – creating hope through action, at 2 different locations i.e. at market place and residential area at Pashan Gaon Essay competition was also conducted at SCON; students from 3 batches (B.Sc. 6th Oct 2023: Celebration of World Heart Day

The Department of Medical Surgical Nursing (MSN) celebrated World Heart Day on October 6, 2023, at the Pashan Community. The event was a resounding success, with a variety of Activities designed to promote heart health and awareness among the community members. The Activities were conducted by dedicated teachers and enthusiastic students from the BSc (N) 3rd Semester batch.

10th Oct 2023: World Mental Health Day

Symbiosis College of Nursing, Pune has observed the World Mental Health Day on the 10th October, 2023 at the Pashan Urban Community Pune. The program began by 09 am with Rally for Awareness about Mental health and the rights of Mentally ill patients. The rally started from the Residential area moved towards the Market place and then ended at the other end of the Urban community. Awareness rally was followed by street Rome play by the M. Sc. I year and II year students on Awareness of Rights of the Mentally ill person. The banner was displayed and Green year ribbons were distributed in the community area. Students of M. Sc. Nursing 1 and 2nd performed a Street play on the theme Mental Health is a Universal Human Right in the community area. The street Role play was performed at two different locations, one at the Market place and another at the Residential Area. After the Street Role Play, the students have put poster exhibition on Awareness of Rights of the Mentally ill person. We received an excellent response from the local people from the community.The students contributed enthusiastically in the community mental health program.

The student nurse association of India organized a 2-day event in Nashik inviting more than 20 collages from all around Maharashtra including symbiosis international University, Pune. In which, from symbiosis college of nursing 14 students took part in the various event some events were given on-the-spot for competition.

17th October 2023: Lamp Lighting Ceremony

Lamp Lighting Ceremony’ for BSc Nursing Semester I students of Symbiosis College of Nursing was planned and conducted on 17 th Oct 2023 which was a success. The Program was inaugurated by lighting of lamp with the auspicious hands of Chief Guest Mr Firoz Poonawalla, Founder, Trustee , Lila Poonawalla Foundation, PuneAnd other invited heads of constituent .Light is a symbol of knowledge and it removes ignorance. The core of the function that is passing of lights to thebudding nurses i.e. 1st year BSc Nursing students was carried out by the Dr .S.G.Joshi ,Director SCON transferring light (knowledge) to Dr.Dipali Dumbre & Ms Manisha Mistry Asst Prof SCON. And thereafter to the 1st year BSc nursing students.The entire first year students took part in Ms. Florence Nightingale oath, which was given by Dr. Sheela Upendra, Deputy Director.

8 faculty member attended SYMSYM conference organized Symbiosis center for Simulation. The Conference was mainly focused on the Simulation Based Education. All the speakers has shared their views and insight about the importance of Simulation based education

25th October 2023: Faculty member and students participated in Meri Mitti Mera Desh

Meri Maati Mera Desh" campaign is one of the culminating event of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav program. Hon PM Naredra Modi has taken the campaign for every citizen to be a part of this vision.This vision is iniated by National Service Scheme, Higher and Technical Education . Department of Maharashtra State which is backed up by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune this is going to attempt for Guinness World Record on Selfie With My Soil. Reportedly our contribution as SIU (more than 5000 selfies) are recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. Faculty, staff members, family members were part of this campaign.

30th October 2023: Visit to Oncology Department Ruby Hall Clinic

Dr. Dipali Dumbre along with 4th semester BSc Nursing, Ist & IInd yr MSc of Medical- Surgical Nursing Speciality visited Kamalnayan Bajaj Cancer Centre of Tehmi Grant Medical Foundation, Ruby Hall Clinic, Sasoon Road, Pune. Students had the opportunity to learn about the physical setup and various treatment modalities available. Students were able to interact with the staff and patients and learn about nursing care and preparation of chemotherapy drugs before administration. Students were also briefed about patient preparation for CT scan and MRI. It was surely a fruitful learning experience for the Students.

2nd November 2023: Administrative Audit

Administrative audit was conducted. The auditors were Dr. Shejwal, Dr. Balasaheb PK, Dr. Nitin Khedekar. There were no as such observations in the audit.

6th November 2023: Burn Visit

On 6th November 2023, Students from BSc. Nursing 4th Semester and M.Sc. Nursing (Medical Surgical Nursing Specialty visited Burn unit of Sassoon General Hospital, Pune. The visit was good learning experience for the students.

7th November 2023: Cipla Palliative Care training program

On 7th November 2023, Students from BSc. Nursing 4th Semester and M.Sc. Nursing (Medical Surgical Nursing Specialty attended the training program conducted by Cipla Palliative Education department. The program was good learning experience for the students.

8th November 2023: Diwali Celebration

SCON has celebrated Diwali festival before heading for the Diwali vacation. All faculties enjoyed the celebration.
